Our Story
Thruhikers was born on the trail. After completing a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail in 2019, our founder experienced firsthand the challenges of staying connected with supporters while conserving battery and dealing with limited connectivity.
The idea was simple: create a platform that allows hikers to update their journey with minimal effort through SMS/MMS, while providing supporters with a rich, interactive experience to follow along.
Today, Thruhikers serves thousands of long-distance hikers across major trails worldwide, helping them share their adventures while staying focused on the journey.
